Belated Happy Easter

I had every intention of wishing you all a Happy Easter last Friday but time got away from me and i forgot. Sorry. :( So here is a belated Happy Easter!!! I hope you all had a great time with your families and i hope the Easter Bunny was generous. He certainly was in this house.
I apologise now for the crappy photos. :(

Claudia with her Easter Egg.

Miranda with her egg. Both girls seemed pretty impressed.

And the hunt begins...

Coban loved collecting the eggs in the backyard. He actually had so many eggs in his basket that Daniel had to help him carry it at one point lol.

I got a peaceful-ish afternoon on Easter Sunday too. Daniel and Coban went to the footy with my FIL and his family. They went to see the Demons play the Hawks and unfortunately the demons were quite shameful losing by 104 points. :( I don't think Coban even noticed though lol. Apparently he fell asleep at some point during the game (i don't really blame him. It must have been a pretty boring match lol). But i do think they both looked very spunky in their footy jumpers. The men in my life are pretty damn handsome if i do say so myself. ;)

And some LO's:

OMG!!!

I forgot to add in my last post.........................

Miranda has started commando crawling! :0 Life will never be the same again lol.

The beach and more...

The last week has been so busy for us! I don't remember the last time we fitted in quite so much in one week lol.

Last Saturday we headed to Carrum beach with my FIL & his family. It was the perfect day for it as it wasn't too hot and it was actually quite overcast for most of the time we were there. My FIL took his sail boat but there was no wind whatsoever so he didn't end up taking it in. Coban had a fabulous time playing in the water, which is unusual for him as he went through a stage last year where he was scared of the water.

On Sunday we had my good friend Amanda's wedding which was just beautiful. The ceremony was held at a catholic church in Bentleigh East and the reception afterwards was held at The Brighton Savoy. Daniel & I stayed the night there and my FIL looked after the girls in our room until after the reception. I fed the girls before the ceremony then went back to the hotel and fed them again. They went to bed just after we left to go downstairs to the reception and then i went back up about 9pm to feed them once more. So it worked really well and meant that we could get out and have a good time with other adults lol.

My MIL looked after Coban that night and she was supposed to bring him to the hotel by 10am Monday morning so that we could go over to Brighton Beach and take some photos. (I've never been there before and really wanted some beach box photos lol.)But that never happened!!! We waited around in the stinking hot sun for an hour with two very tired, grumpy girls and by 11am, i had had enough of waiting. Apparently MIL was 10 minutes away but by then it was just too late. We decided to go home and put the girls to bed. :( So now i have to wait for another function in that area before i will get a chance to get back to Brighton Beach lol.

I didn't get very good photos of the wedding as the lighting was crap in the church and i was too far away at the reception. I didn't want to be a pain and go right up the front while they were getting their professional photos done. So here are a couple that turned out ok lol.

On Tuesday, my Dad came to stay with us. He stayed for 2 nights then headed back up to Kapunda. It was lovely to have him here. It was the first time that he had met the girls too so it was extra special. Coban loved having him here too.

Tomorrow we are going to my best friend's DD's 3rd b'day party. It is going to be really hot so i hope my kids will be ok. Normally Miranda & Claudia get very grumpy and don't sleep very well when it's hot and we're out so fingers crossed.

Back to it...

The encyclopedia that is. :)
I haven't gotten too far considering how long ago i started this. So here we go onto the next letter...

{M}

{Miranda}

Born 3.07am Thursday 16th August 2007. Miranda Celise made her grand entrance 4 hours after my waters broke @ 11pm. She was obviously in a hurry to come out as it all happened so quickly. Daniel & I drove to the hospital quite calmly as i wasn't having any contractions at that stage. Miranda's birth was so straight forward. I missed out on having the epidural though as she didn't want to wait lol. Which was actually fine by me as i couldn't imagine laying still for a whole 5 minutes while they put it all in.

Anyway, Miranda arrived without any complications and weighed 2.1kg. She had apgar scores of 9 and got on the breast straight away. We chose Celise as her middle name as i wanted to try to incorporate my Poppy's name, Cecil, somehow. Celise was the nicest option i could think of and luckily Daniel liked it too.

Miranda is now almost 7 months old and is commando crawling already. :0 She also has 2 teeth, can play with her feet, chats away all day, sleeps well & is generally a very happy baby. She has taken to solids like a real champ. She has enjoyed everything so far and unlike her sister, doesn't make too much of a mess lol.

{Motherhood}

This is definitely the best job in the world!! I feel so lucky to have 3 perfectly healthy and happy children. They all fill me with so much joy and pride. Things are getting easier with the girls now so i feel much more relaxed about the whole gig. Coban obviously has typical toddler behaviour at times which really gets to me but i just have to remember that it will pass (hopefully!!). He is a very gorgeous, polite little boy mostly and he often makes me laugh.

My favourite thing in the world to do is to go and look at them when they are asleep. Coban is usually up the other end of the bed all twisted and both of the girls sleep with their bums in the air which i just *love*. I just have to put my hand on their cute little bums when they do it lol.

I will not be having any more kids though. As much as i enjoy being a Mum. 3 kids is just perfect for us and i really don't want to buy a people mover lol. I like my fast sporty car. ;)

{Melissa}

Mel is my bestest friend in the whole wide world! I first met Mel in 2001 (?) when we worked together in a Pharmacy. We were both there for about 3 years and then we both headed to different jobs. We have stayed in touch that whole time and in 2003 she was my maid of honour when i got married.

Mel called me up one day to tell me that she was pregnant (after having endometriosis and being on the pill lol) and at that point i thought i may have been too. I called her the very next day to confirm that i was indeed pregnant as well. Her daughter Emerald was born 2 weeks before Coban and are now good friends too. Although we don't see them as much as we'd like, I know Mel & I will be the best of friends forever!

{Needles}

Apparently as a child, i was always fascinated with needles. I would sit and watch as my brother got his immunisations and think it was wonderful. (Maybe it was watching him bawl his eyes out that i liked the most LOL). I wouldn't go as far as to say that i *loved* needles but they certainly don't bother me. I did skip a day of school when the tetanus injections were being done but i think that was more about me not wanting to go to school lol. I have had so many needles and blood tests in the past 3 years that they really don't bother me at all. The ones that hurt the most were when i had to get teeth pulled out at the dentist and i had to have needles in the roof of my mouth. ***OUCH***

{Non-Conformist}

That was me as a teenager. As soon as we moved to Melbourne i changed from being a straight A, diligent student to being just a tad obnoxious to my teachers lol. One thing that i remember
quite clearly was when i was in yr 9 and i would wear my 8 up Doc Martins with my summer school dress (i was a bit grungy back then lol). Every time i got told off and told to wear proper school shoes, i would say that it wasn't my fault that my family was so poor that they couldn't afford any more shoes. ROFL. Even though my Doc Martins cost loads more than a pair of school shoes. Anyway, one teacher told me that i could get a pair of school shoes from the lost property and it was from then that i started to wear normal school shoes lol.

The list is quite long actually, of things that i did that weren't allowed etc. I wagged school more often than not from about yr 9. I was suspended from school in yr 9 due to apparently having an attitude problem. I was actually in the right but as usual, i took it a bit too far lol. My Mum wasn't too impressed with the school so she took me out and put me into another school which was a heck of a lot better. Even though i didn't change much lol.

I was also a smoker at school. I got busted once walking to school but my Mum already knew that i smoked so i wasn't worried. It was quite funny though because i would smoke in the school grounds all the time and never once got caught lol. I could go on but i think i should stop before i incriminate myself any further lol.

Sorry Mum. ;) And Chantelle, you are not allowed to do what i did!! I was BAD! PMSL.

{Nicknames}

In primary school i was known as 'Poshy' (not sure why as i was far from posh) & 'Fish Lips' (for obvious reasons lol). In High School i was 'Angel May', 'Angel', 'Areow'. And Mum used to call me 'Reeby' as a child as my middle name's Maree. Not very exciting really but i couldn't think of anything else for 'N'. lol

Exploding Box Album

I finally finished the exploding box album that i have been meaning to do for ages. I quite like how it turned out too. It still needs a ribbon around the lid but i need to go searching for the right one. The photos in the album are all by Clair Bremner. Here are the pics:

I am going!!!!!!

That's right. I have been given the go-ahead to go to the Scraptacular Retreat in July. I am almost jumping out of my skin with excitement. It does mean that i will have to paper scrap a few times :o but my gorgeous EB mate Rach is lending me her brand spankin' Mac laptop to use to digi scrap while i'm there. I just love this chick!! It is over 4 months away and it is going to be the longest 4 months ever i reckon.

Here is a LO i finished this morning. I really like how this one turned out. I started off not having anything in mind but i really wanted to use the tag that teh boys got on the day so i scanned it in and there you have it. The colours were a good match too.

I used mostly stuff by Kaye Winiecki @ Pickleberrypop.

And because i keep putting it off, here is the next installment in my A-Z. I am up to K which i am really struggling with but here goes...

{K}

{Kids}

Well obviously i couldn't think of much else so i guess i'll start with kids lol. I have 3 and will not be having any more lol. Coban will be 3 in April and Miranda & Claudia are 6 months old at the moment. After having twins, i think the whole cluckiness was zapped right out of me. I am very happy not to have any more kids as i feel quite content with my life as it is.

Oh bugger it. I can't think of anything else lol. On to the next letter.

{L}

{Lollies}

I am an absolute sucker for lollies. Any kind of sweet actually lol. But my all time fave lollies would be Strawberries & Creams, Pineapples, Mates, Raspberry Bullets & Spearmint Leaves.
I can still remember going to the local milk bar (or deli for you weirdos lol) with 20c and buying a bag of mixed lollies. You used to get so many lollies for that price and if we were REALLY lucky, we would be given 50c and OMG!!! What to choose.... We used to spend ages standing in front of the glass cabinet trying to decide exactly how many of each lolly we wanted lol. Those were the days.

{Leeches}

Eeewwwww. I cannot stand these slimey little buggers. I had some on me once when we were 4wd'ing and i nearly jumped out of the car when it was moving. They are so amn hard to get off too which is the worst part. Especially when you get told that if you pull them off, their heads could get stuck in your skin...OK that doesn't bear thinking about. I must remember to pack matches and salt in the 4WD in the future lol.

{Lawn Bowls}

This is a game that i am hanging out to play. They have free bowls on at our local bowls club on Wednesday nights but it starts a little too early for me to get to. One day i am going to do it though. It is the coolest thing to do for the youngin's these days as they have twilight games. One day...
